Spreaders are the endodontic instruments with the sharpest and finest tips. The most common application methods are: “cold”, whose function is to laterally compact the master cone of gutta-percha against the root canal wall to make room for additional cones; “warm” whereby the root canal is heated by the previously heated tip.
