Description
Silk Braided Sutures represent a special variety of non-absorbable and non-mutagenic surgical sutures. Composed of natural proteinaceous silk fibers known as fibroin, they come with an extra coating of silicone mixture designed to minimize capillarity and heighten surface lubricity. As a result, these braided sutures show improved handling characteristics with effortless passage through tissue, as well as enhanced knot run-down properties. Silk Braided Sutures are composed of 100% natural silk harvested from the larvae of the silkworm. Through a special manufacturing technique, including braiding and coating, these sutures provide extreme suppleness and flexibility that make them optimal for surgical manipulations.
